The Sennington Chess Club recently held its highly anticipated Annual Summer Chess Tournament, bringing together players from across the village and beyond for a day of intense competition and camaraderie. Held at the Sennington Town Hall on August 15th, the event saw a fantastic turnout, with participants ranging from seasoned experts to enthusiastic newcomers.

The tournament featured several rounds of play, with competitors matched according to skill level to ensure a fair and exciting challenge for all. After hours of strategic battles on the board, the competition culminated in a thrilling final match between local favorite, Daniel Ellis, and visiting player, Clara Houghton. Clara, a rising star in the regional chess scene, ultimately claimed victory, showcasing her remarkable tactical acumen and poise under pressure.

In addition to the main competition, the event included a special junior division, where young chess enthusiasts had the opportunity to test their skills and learn from more experienced players. The day concluded with a prize-giving ceremony, where winners in each category received trophies and all participants were celebrated for their dedication and sportsmanship. The Sennington Chess Club extends its gratitude to everyone who took part in making this event a success and looks forward to seeing even more participants at next year's tournament!
